Luminous Voices opens its fourth season with Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle – a varied and expressive work from the Italian opera master that is neither “little” nor “solemn.” Rossini’s original (and preferred) version is scored for four soloists and choir, accompanied by two pianos and harmonium. Guest artists include Laura Hynes, soprano, Lawrence Wiliford, tenor, Cheryl Emery and Leanne Regehr, piano.

This all-Handel concert features beloved Handel choruses and arias from “Solomon”, “Rinaldo”, “Alexander's Feast”, “Xerxes”, “Messiah”, and “Chandos Anthem No. 9”. Guest artists include Edmonton’s brilliant Vaughan String Quartet, and inspired organist Jeremy Spurgeon.
