Luminous Voices | Rapturous Renaissance

Following the success of SPEM IN ALIUM concert in January 2014, Luminous Voices presents their second program devoted to the spellbinding music of the 15th& 16th centuries. A signature work on the program is "Deo Gratias", a 36-part canon written by Johannes Ockeghem performed in surround sound. This concert will also feature selections from Peter Togni’s haunting and reflective “Responsio". The piece will feature bass clarinetist Jeff Reilly of Halifax performing with 4 luminous solo voices.

Spiritus Chamber Choir | Northern Lights

Calgary’s award-winning Spiritus Chamber Choir shines light on music linked to a variety of lights. The concert features “Everlasing Light”- a beautiful work for choir, solovoices, marimba, and crystal glasses by Canadian composer Christos Hatzis. Spiritus will also explore works on the themeof light by Elgar and R. Murray Schafer, and two newly commissioned works by David MacIntyre and Calgary composer Zachary Wadworth. The performance will be enhanced with uniquelighting. Don’t miss!
